Louisiana Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS)
Locate the DCFS office nearest you, which administers many of the programs listed below.
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides monthly benefits that help eligible low-income households buy the food they need for good health.
Louisiana Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP)
Provides assistance to families to help pay for childcare in order to work or attend school or training.
Family Independence Temporary Assistance Program (FITAP)
Public assistance program that provides financial aid for children in their own homes who are in need because they do not have sufficient financial support from parents.
Kinship Care Subsidy Program (KCSP)
Provides cash assistance of $450 per month for each eligible child who resides with a qualified relative other than a parent.
Women, Infants and Children (WIC)
Supplemental Nutrition Program for women who are pregnant, breastfeeding or have already delivered. Infants and children may also receive benefits up to age 5.
