Baton Rouge, La. -- The Louisiana Community and Technical College System (LCTCS) announced today that Dr. Daniel Roberts has been appointed Acting Chancellor of Northshore Technical Community College. Roberts' appointment is effective Monday, September 24, and is the result of Northshore's permanent chancellor, Dr. William Wainwright, being appointed Interim Chancellor of Delgado Community College. Roberts' appointment will last for the period of time that Wainwright is on assignment at Delgado. Roberts' appointment was made by LCTCS President, Monty Sullivan, at the authorization of the Board of Supervisors.
"Dr. Roberts has been an integral part of the Northshore Leadership Team for several years and his appointment will ensure the college continues its mission of serving the communities on the Northshore," said Sullivan. "He has excellent working relationships with the faculty and staff, students, and broader college community."
Roberts currently serves as Northshore's Provost and Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs. He has worked at the college since 2011 and is leading the college through its accreditation process. He has worked in higher education since 2005 in various roles at LSU and Southeastern Louisiana University. Roberts earned his undergraduate degree in Communications from Southeastern, his MBA from Southeastern, and his doctorate degree in Higher Education Administration from LSU.
"We are confident that Dr. Roberts will provide a smooth transition in leadership as acting chancellor at Northshore and believe that his knowledge of the college community will foster an environment of continuous progress," said LCTCS Board Chair, Stephen Toups.
The Board of Supervisors will take formal action to ratify Roberts' appointment at the next scheduled Board meeting, November 14, 2018.
