Baton Rouge, La - Today, the Louisiana Community and Technical College System (LCTCS) Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a recommendation to appoint Dennis Epps as the permanent chancellor of Louisiana Delta Community College. Epps had served as Acting Chancellor since August 1, 2016.
"Mr. Epps accepted the Acting Chancellor role during very difficult financial times, and he has done an outstanding job of leading the college despite the fiscal environment," said LCTCS President Monty Sullivan. "Dennis is the right fit for the college and the community it serves. He possesses the needed skill set to address existing challenges, maximize talents, and develop a vision to continue moving the college forward."
Prior to joining the LCTCS as the Vice President for Workforce Solutions in February 2015, Epps served as the Deputy Director and Associate Director for the Carl Vinson Institute of Government at the University of Georgia; the Director of Operation, Archway Partnership at the University of Georgia; Economic Development Specialist, The Fanning Institute at the University of Georgia; and Executive Director, Planning and Community Relations as well as Vice-President of Economic Development at Southeastern Technical College, Vidalia, Georgia. Mr. Epps has a B.S. in Agriculture, M.Ed. in Adult and Vocational Education and has been working on his Doctorate of Education degree. He is the author of numerous publications on economic development practices, civic engagement, collaboration and various other topics.
