DIY Recovery Series
South Louisiana has time and again faced devastation impacted by heavy flood waters and hurricanes. In an effort to serve our college communities, LCTCS granted Northshore Technical Community College the opportunity to provide hands-on training in home repair, through a "Be Your Own Workforce" Recovery Series. The series included classes in drywall, tile/backsplash, flooring, painting, and hazardous materials.
Committed to prepare, respond, and recover, the following MOOC online instructional modules were filmed during this 2016 "Be Your Own Workforce" Flood Recovery Series. The modules were held at Walker High School in Livingston Parish and were filmed, edited, and produced by its students.
